For over 130 years, Seiko have been at the cutting edge of watchmaking technological development. Their tireless efforts have led to the creation of many watchmaking firsts, including the first TV watches, the first voice recording watches, and importantly, the first ever quartz watch in 1969, followed by the first quartz watch with a chronograph complication. Their wristwatch pedigree dates back to 1913, with the Laurel, the first ever wristwatch made in Japan. This spirit of precision and innovation has led to Seiko watches being some of the most sought after in the world.

Seiko was founded in 1881 by Kintaro Hattori, the current CEO’s Great grandfather, in central Tokyo. Initially one shop selling and repairing watches and clocks, the precision and craftsmanship of the brand quickly became celebrated, and the company grew inexorably. Their reputation grew globally, and has since led to Seiko being the official timekeeper in many of the world’s biggest sporting events, including numerous Olympic Games and FIFA World Cups.

The name ‘Seiko’ is derived from ‘Seikosha’, meaning ‘House of Precision’, and to this day it remains the at the very core of Seiko’s philosophy. Every one of their watches are crafted entirely in-house, so as to ensure the highest quality control through the entire manufacturing process.

Seiko watches meld perfectly together the elegance of Japanese aesthetics, with uncompromising precision and performance, creating luxury watches in every sense of the word.
