For over 30 years, Clogau has been the preeminent brand in Welsh Jewellery. Their ever growing range has gained international renown, not only for quality and craftsmanship, but also for the wonderful storytelling of their designs. Each and every piece of Clogau jewellery contains rare Welsh gold, a gold popular with members of the British Royal Family for more than 100 years. Wales is at the heart of all that Clogau produces. Drawing on a rich cultural history, their jewellery reflects and incorporates both modern and traditional designs and motifs.
The brand is named for the Clogau St. David’s mine in Bontddu in the mountains of Snowdonia. The company founder William Roberts reopened the mine, which had been abandoned for many years, finding undiscovered gold buried within. It was William’s conclusion that the only way to do justice to such high-quality material, was to use it exclusively to create jewellery of exceptional quality also, while using the land that it was borne of as the main design inspiration.
Each piece of Clogau Jewellery is crafted using traditional techniques and expertly hand finished, creating a product that will be cherished and adored for many lifetimes. To hold a piece of Clogau Jewellery is to hold a precious piece of Wales.
