The ultimate combination of luxury design and unwavering performance, Omega watches are for the true pioneers. From Sportspeople and Astronauts to World Leaders and Spies, Omega is the watch of choice for those at the cutting edge of human achievement.
For over 170 years, Omega watches have been pushing the limits of durability, creating the world’s most reliable watches, whilst never compromising their unparalleled aesthetic appeal. The true testament to this is those who choose to wear them.
Omega watches were chosen by the British Flying Corps as it’s official combat timekeepers in 1917, and by the US army in 1917. Since 1932, Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympic Games. In 1964, Nasa subjected a wide range of chronographs to its extreme tests, designed to destroy them. The Omega Speedmaster was the only one to survive, and became the first watch on the moon in 1969, being worn by Buzz Aldrin. Omega also proved the watches of choice for John F. Kennedy, Elvis Presley, George Clooney, Prince William, and of course, James Bond.
The innovation of Omega continues to set new, ever higher standards for watches, helping establish the new Master Chronometer certification. This involves the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology putting COSC certified watches through even more stringent tests. Unsurprisingly, Omega became the first brand to have a watch achieve this prestigious certification.
Omega makes impressive use of advanced materials, from silicon, ceramics, and precious metals, to creating new alloys that improve both performance and design. No detail is ignored in the creation of an Omega watch. Each timepiece can take up to 500 hours to craft, and this dedication is reflected in the quality of the product.
